Then I started thinking more directly about reflections and remembered that vampires are rumored to have no reflection. I briefly considered drawing a vampire having their hair cut but decided that was a stupid idea.
Vampires have no reflection supposedly because they have no soul. Conversely our eyes are supposed to be the mirror to our soul. I decided to draw the reflection of my right eye. (Soul not visible).
Are we then only able to see half the soul of a cyclops? And if so do we have any evidence to suggest these mythical beasts have a complete soul?
Finally I began to think about how close the french word 'Réflexion' is to it's English counterpart and how it is read in translation almost automatically by an English speaker. In respect of this I attempted to emphasise the Frenchness of the word by typing it in Didot, the classic French 'modern' typeface often used by fashion magazines to conjure up a connection to Parisian chic. The blobs of ink are stolen from AM's piece in the hope of forging a connection between the two.
Not a complete response yet. More of a random flow of thoughts. La lutte continue....

In retrospect it could also be a "black and white" response to your "black and blue" piece: looks even less like the original...
